Recently, I was searching for a CD burner/ripper. Nothing fancy flashy or too feature rich just a simple program to copy audio and data files to my CD burner
I found this one. It's inexpensive and it works. CheetahBurner.comBurn Audio MP3, Data, and ISO files... Fast!
I finally figured out what cd-r, cd+r, cd-rw, cd+rw and the rest of it means then...I purchased a DVD player!
Now, there's dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw and the rest of it. But I found a great package to easily create dvd videos, slide shows, cds, exe distributions and even web shows. This is great stuff. I'm not an expert in this area but I like to create pictures of my family and display them in different ways. I don't have a lot of time to figure all this out but this software saves me a lot of time. You can even add an audio file to the selected slides and the software will synchronize the audio file time to the number of slides.
It's great, easy and fun! It's PROShow Gold at: http://photodex.com/
What a find. Have you ever wanted or needed to boot a cd and do major maintenance on your server, pc etc? How about booting on a workstation with a cd and getting total network support to connect to any share on the network? How about booting on a workstation and accessing an image file on a server or other pc and restoring that image to the workstation? Huh? Any of these scenarios sound familiar?
You can do it and more with BART PE. With BART PE you can create a bootable cd with network support, usb support, ntfs support and 3rd party programs (if they have a plugin, or make your own) will appear in the "Run Programs" list of the bootable CD.
It saved my life (well not my life but a lot of time) BART PE
Speaking of imaging and cloning have you seen Paragon Software Group's products? Man, they have some nice stuff and priced right.
I purchased and use their: Drive Copy program for imaging, Drive Partition for partitioning and CD Emulator to save and run virtual CDs on the PCs at the school I teach at. The major benefit of Paragon Products is that if you purchase the Professional versions they run on servers. That's right: imaging hot backups (imaging real time), and partitioning on servers. The price is right too: $99.00
I've tested and used these products on plenty of different Windows 2000 Server/Workstations and XP machines with zero ill effects. Paragon Drive Copy comes with a plugin for BART PE so you can boot the CD and run Paragon from the bootable CD. Great combination.
