Overview - What does it do?
Resource Reporter is a small exe that runs via a scheduler. It does two things:
- Checks Hard drive space
- Checks a defined folder for X number of files
I usually set this up in the scheduler to run every ten minutes. It is very low overhead no registry settings or dlls scattered about. All the program components are installed into the working folder. You can place it anywhere you'd like.

Trial limitations: Does not email and messages appear when run
Features/Benefits
- Resource Reporter will warn you when your hard disk space is at a user defined low point.
- Resource Reporter will email you upon finding this condition.
- Provide Resource Reporter with a folder and a number: c:\folder,3000 and Resource Reporter will check that folder for the number of files defined (3000). If the folder contains over 3000 files then you will be emailed. I use this to check mail server spooler folders. If they are over 3000 files then I know that someone from inside is spamming or that the server is getting jo-jobbed. Jo-jobbed is when spammers use a from address - a valid email address on our server - in their spam. When they do this all the undeliverable mails return to our server. If the spammer is sending out 1 - 3 million emails then the undeliverables will be significant.

Since it is very straight forward in its operation, there is no 30 day eval on this tool.

How can I use the program?
Here is one way I personally use this program.
I simply run Resource Reporter every 10 minutes and have it email me the results. This way I know beforehand - before the disk space has expired - what the available disk space is and what the status of the mail server spooler is.
Resource Reporter is a pretty handy program.
